Say cheese! The Caerphilly Cheese Festival is back for 2025!

Get ready for a fantastic weekend of live music, great food and a whole load of fun! Including food, drink & craft stalls, a funfair, street entertainers, and lots on offer from town centre businesses, there’s something for everyone.

The annual festival will take place in Caerphilly town centre and the grassed area at the rear of Caerphilly Castle. There will be an abundance of food, craft and drink stalls, with a special hot food court and drinking area in Twyn Car Park.

The event features over 25 acts across 3 main live music areas:

  • The Green Lady Stage (Cardiff Road)
  • The Castle Moat Stage (Crescent Road / rear of Caerphilly Castle)
  • The Leaning Tower Main Stage (The Twyn Car Park)

The Caerphilly Cheese Festival is a two-day event including different types of entertainment and activities such as live music, food and drink stalls, a funfair and more! There's something to suit everyone and there's a whole lot of fun to be had!

How to get to the Caerphilly Cheese Festival

Directions

Exit Junction 32 of M4, take the A470 then A468 and follow signs for Caerphilly.

‼️ Important travel information: please note that due to ongoing works on the Upper Rhymney Line, rail replacement services will be in place between Rhymney and Caerphilly on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August, which may affect your journey to and from the event. Rail services south of Caerphilly (e.g. to and from Cardiff) will not be impacted. Buses will run every 15 minutes from Bargoed, and every 30 minutes from Rhymney.

Please be aware of any changes to public transport timetables and allow for extra time when making your journey or arrange alternative travel if necessary. We advise that you check before you travel at journeycheck.com.

Transport for Wales are available 24/7 to answer your questions, so please call on 033 33 211 202. Alternatively, you may contact via WhatsApp on 07790 952507 (07:00-20:00 on Monday to Friday, and 11:00-20:00 on Sunday). 


Public car parks, including disabled bays, can be found at the following locations:

• Caerphilly Park-and-Ride, CF83 1JU (free)
• Crescent Road car park, CF83 1AB (pay-and-display)
• Morrisons / Castle Court Shopping Centre, CF83 1XP (free, maximum stay 3 hours)

FREE parking facilities will also be available at:
 
• St Martin’s School, Hillside, CF83 1UW
• Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni y Gwyndy, Pontygwindy Road, CF83 3HG
• Overflow parking at Owain Glyndwr Playing Field, Crescent Road, CF83 1AB (weather-dependent)

Please check signage on arrival.

Road closures will be in place through Cardiff Road, Twyn Road and some adjacent side streets.

Public Toilets

Portable toilets can be found throughout the event site, with a hub at The Twyn Car Park.

Toilets are also available at Caerphilly Library and Ffos Caerffili during these sites' opening hours.

If you’re wondering whether your pooch pals can attend the Caerphilly Cheese Festival with you – YES, they can!

Dogs kept on leads are welcome at the event to enjoy a paw-fect day out!

Please note: while dogs are welcome at the Caerphilly Cheese Festival, we advise owners intending to bring their dogs to exercise caution due to the higher volume of people. We ask that owners please consider both their dogs’ and other attendees’ welfare.

Owners bringing dogs to the event do so at their own risk and liability.

The Sensory Sanctuary

We know that crowds and lots of noise can be overwhelming for some people, so our Sensory Sanctuary will be available at our town centre events for those with autism and other neurodivergence needs, or anyone who needs to take a break.

You’ll find a quiet space at Caerphilly Library between 9.30am and 4pm on Saturday 30th August.
